A new episode of the well-known German business show “Die Höhle der Löwen” — the local adaptation of the legendary American format “Shark Tank” — recently aired. The program gives startups the chance to compete for investment by presenting their ideas to influential entrepreneurs. This time, among the many innovative projects, one stood out for its fresh approach to employment solutions.
It was presented by Ukrainian entrepreneur Tetyana Mühlen together with her husband Ralf. Having lived in Germany for many years, Tetyana identified one of the country’s major labor market challenges — the shortage of qualified workers. To address this issue, the couple launched the startup NewLifeJobs.
The project is designed to support both those already seeking employment in Germany and individuals planning to relocate to the country for work. At its core is a mobile app powered by artificial intelligence that allows employers and job seekers to communicate without language barriers. Candidates can fill in their information in their native language, while German employers receive it in German. Built-in algorithms instantly suggest relevant job opportunities. All stages of the process — from interviews to signing contracts — take place online. In this way, the platform builds a bridge between global talent and local workforce gaps.
Earlier, Tetyana had already shared details of the project on the podcast “Vidverta Kava” (“Honest Coffee”), where she spoke about launching the business, collaborating with German organizations, and successful employment cases.
On the show, investors were impressed by the idea, praising both its technological solution and its social relevance for the German labor market. Despite the positive feedback, Tetyana and Ralf’s team did not secure funding from the “lions.” However, the very fact of presenting on such a prestigious platform was an important recognition of the project’s value as an innovative business solution.
As Tetyana emphasized, the app was created to simplify the job search process for all unemployed people — but her personal mission is to help Ukrainians integrating into German society. Importantly, the app is completely free for job seekers, making NewLifeJobs not only accessible but also a unique project that already today builds connections between people searching for opportunities and companies in need of new talent.
